WHITE RIVER FIRST OF SEVEN FOREST MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR THE NORTHEAST
The invitation to participate in forest management planning for the White River Forest 2028-2038 Forest Management Plan has been issued – the first of the cohort of forest management plans across the northeast that will begin planning in 2026 or 2027. The White River Forest has a 2028-2038 plan term, while the Temagami, Nipissing, Romeo Mallete and Hearst forests have plan terms from 2029-2039.
The Invitation to Participate announces the start of the planning process and invites you to provide background information and to share “your view of the desired forest and benefits which can be obtained from the forest.” This very important stage is absolutely understated – now is the time to provide input on the objectives and strategic direction for the forest management planning. There will be a review of the proposed management direction for the White River Forest in October.
